Swagbucks.com is a website that pays you to "search the web". The meat and potatoes of earning on the site consists of using the search engine at least a few times a day. Instead of using Google, you go to the Swagbucks website and use their search engine on their site to search the internet. You can also download a toolbar, which provides instant access to the swagbucks search engine. You earn points, which are accumulated and you can trade them in for various things ranging from gift cards, prizes, and paypal. Points are accumulated in various denominations and they are random. You won't always get points for searching. I've noticed a helpful trend though. If you do a search in the morning and in the early evening, you will usually win points within your first 3 searches. Make your searches legitimate as well - don't just keep typing in a topic and hit search. They have a system to detect fraudulant searches and a warning will come up if you do too many searches in a short amount of time. Generally, If I don't win points on the first search, I immediately will search again - if nothing that time, I will search a third time in succession. Usually like I said above I'll win points within the first 3 searches I do. If I don't win points, I won't do a search for say another 10 minutes or so. Like I said I typically will win points twice a day using the search engine - morning and evening. In between, I've noticed I very, very rarely have won points. So if you follow that formula, you will win points at least twice a day using the search engine.
There is also other ways to earn points such as watching videos, taking polls, and checking out sponsered ads. There aren't that many videos and they usually are only worth 3 swagbucks. The daily poll is only worth 1 SB. You can only do that one once a day. You can also earn swagbucks by participating in sponsered offers as well - you buy a product and you earn SB's. I've never done that because I'm trying to make money - not spend it.
I've noticed a negative trend on Swagbucks and that is every time they do some kind of change or update to the site, where they are hyping up the fact there will be more different ways to earn and earn more swagbucks, I've actually seen a decline in the amount of swagbucks earned. So, you're basically getting less swagbucks than before their "updates". Whatever Swagbucks you earn however, are still free. Free is free in my book even if there has been a decline. So far, this doesn't seem to have any effect on the overall health of the site. They are reliable and look financially stable. So, there's no chance of getting scammed or never getting paid for what you've earned right now. If something were to change, I'll be on top of it and you'll be the first to know.
A typical month for me is about 1,000 Swagbucks. That's just from stopping in and doing a search in the morning and one in the evening. I'll also do the daily poll. So, I'm only spending seconds on the site every day. To give you an idea of what you can get with 1,000 SB's...you can get a $5 Paypal payment for 700 SB's. 900 SB's will get you 2 $5 Amazon online gift cards. There are a host of other gift cards and prizes available as well. Too numerous to mention here - everything from sports cards, movie memorobilia, music downloads, movie downloads, and everything in between. Check out the Swagbucks website for detailed prizes available.
The site is reliable for payments. I've never had a problem getting a payment or prize from them. The first time I cashed out it took 3 weeks to get my money deposited in PayPal. After that it's usually been around a week for the deposit to show up in my account.
So mark down Swagbucks as one website to make money on daily. You won't make much, but you're not investing time either in the site outside of maybe a minute total a day. If you get a $5 paypal payment every month that works out to $60 a year.
There are still other ways to earn on Swagbucks.
Swag Codes - Swag Codes are strings of text that you can apply for instant Swag Bucks. The codes are placed in certain parts of the website such as in the blog and facebook page. A widget is available to place on your blog that you can check to see if a new swag code is available. Reading the daily blog will tell you if there is a Swag Code out. Typcially, Swag Codes are time sensitive - meaning they are only available for a certain amount of time. You need to snag the codes in that time frame and then enter them on the Swagbucks main page. There is a box available for you to enter the swag code that you've found. Swag Codes vary in the amount of swagbucks you earn - I've had small SB's such as 6 SB's up to 15 SB's.
Inviting friends and getting people to sign up are another way. When someone signs up under your invitation or referral link, your account will be credited the same amount that your referral earns - up to 1,000 SB's. 1,000 is the cap. Matching Swag Bucks are only awarded on Swag Bucks won through online search.
By no means will get make a lot of money on Swag Bucks. The way I look at Swag Bucks is that if you're online anyhow and doing internet searches, you have nothing to lose because you're doing something you would be doing anyhow - the only difference being is that you're just using a different search engine.
Hopefully, that gives you a good idea about what the site is all about and hopefully it gives you the confidence to participate in the site worry free.
So far Swag Bucks gets a 100 rating for making money online.
